Elmont is an unincorporated community located in Nassau County, New York. Situated on Long Island along the Queens border, this suburban bedroom community has a population of roughly 33,000. Originally founded in 1650, Elmont consists of 3.4 square miles of total area, all of which is land. Much of Nassau County is ranked high nationally when it comes to providing an outstanding education, and older students will attend Sewanhaka High School or Elmont Memorial High School. Elmont is also home to Belmont Park, which hosts the annual Belmont Stakes, and this thoroughbred race is the third leg of the highly prestigious Triple Crown.
